The Solstice Celebration

I took some time away in early July at the cabin, but now I’m back in town and want to thank everyone who was able to make it out for our first ever Vibe Tribe community event!

We held the first VIBE Celebration of Members on the Summer Solstice, June 21, 2017. In ancient times Solstice was considered a time of fullness of life, worldly blessing, and celebration. Not much has changed today as we began our celebration by casting a Sacred Circle where we incorporated the Four Sacred Plants and the Spirits of the Four Directions to watch over our Ceremony.

• We called upon the Guardians of the East with the powers of knowledge and wisdom, guided by Air. We offered Tobacco which represents our Mind.
• We called upon the Guardians of the South, with powers of energy and will, guided by Fire. We offered Cedar which represents our Soul.
• We called upon the Guardians of the West, with powers of passion and emotion, guided by Water. We offered Sage which represents our Prayer.
• And we called upon the Guardians of the North, with powers of endurance and strength, guided by Earth. We offered Sweet Grass for our Body and Spirit.

Ken then lead us in a smudge and pipe ceremony. Then, Lisa and Tod read prayers and poems, and we all offered individual and collective intention/prayers by candlelight. Next we drummed in circle, and rattled and chimed, lasting over 40 minutes long. Then the real drummers came together in a small circle and really raised the vibrations!! Nicole then closed the Sacred Circle. It was amazing collective energy!!

What you’re celebrating on a mystical level for Solstice is that you’re looking at light at its strongest: representing the power of light over darkness, and simply life itself – but life at its fullest.

We then socialized, ate, and drank till dark with a beautiful view of the Lake. It was great to put names to faces from posts on the VIBE Forums and get to know other Members that may be neighbors or have like-minded interests.

Such a great way to bring in the new light together. Thanks to all of you who were able to make it. We look forward to offering more in-person events soon!
